All of our school tours are tailored to the requirements of each school, whilst is is possible to produce and sell ‘off the shelf’ trips, we prefer not to do this as each school and student group tends to have varying needs.
We are often asked about Geography School tours – this is absolutely possible and for this we recommend Iceland as, not only are school tours in Iceland extremely popular, the area is perfect for Geography school trips – volcanoes, waterfalls, arctic plants and more. Previous school tours we’ve run to Iceland have included presentations by lecturers from Reykjavik University on Glaciers and more. If your students aren’t quite at University level then it is possible for subject specific talks or lessons to be tailored to your students educational needs.
For example, if you wanted your class to learn about plants that live in the Arctic during your trip, it may be that we source a local botanist for you.
One thing to consider which is particularly relevant for geography students is the time of year the trip takes place – it may not be appropriate that if you’ve tasked your students to look at Arctic vegetation that the trip takes place when there is 3 ft of snow on the ground – or perhaps this would be a plus point for your students, they could look at how the Arctic vegetation deals with the extreme temperatures – hence, unlike many school tour operators, why we prefer to tailor our tours!
