For our UK based schools we also include fights within your package which are generally from Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester. For international Schools flights are not included.

Planning and Preparation

We recommend starting to plan your school trip at least 12 months in advance, especially for groups of 20+. Early planning helps secure the best prices and flight options, and gives schools ample time to promote the trip and boost student participation.

Ensure your group has comprehensive insurance that covers all planned activities. Many schools already have providers, but it’s important to confirm coverage details.

Safety

Student safety is our top priority. While our trips include adventurous activities, we conduct thorough risk assessments and partner only with trusted, experienced suppliers. Accidents, though rare, can happen—so full insurance is essential. Students must follow guide instructions at all times and behave responsibly, with school staff ensuring appropriate conduct.

Curriculum Links

We prioritise learning through adventure and if required we can ensure our tours are relevant to important curricular elements currently being studied by students – be it geology or astrophysics, engineering or art and design - we are usually able to accommodate most requests. We pride ourselves that all elements of our tours will provide a learning experience for students – without them even realising it! Throughout school trips to the Arctic, students are learning and developing their social skills, teamwork, languages and so much more.

Information for Parents

Each year, we proudly send over 1,000 travellers to destinations across the Arctic. We are fully licensed and ATOL protected, and for school groups departing from the UK, our tours are also ABTA protected—giving you complete peace of mind.

All our suppliers are carefully selected to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. In some cases, accommodation may be relatively basic, as many of our destinations are in remote, wilderness areas where survival and authenticity take priority over luxury. Some of our more remote camps may not have electricity or running water—an essential part of providing a genuine Arctic wilderness experience. Accommodation details will be agreed with the school and communicated to students in advance, so they know what to expect and can prepare accordingly.

For many of our winter tours, we provide thermal clothing for the duration of the trip. This typically includes a snow suit (either one- or two-piece), insulated gloves, and winter boots. Students should bring their own thermal base layers, and we strongly recommend they pack a hat, scarf, and extra gloves. Where thermal clothing is not provided, the school will be informed in advance.
