We are delighted to announce that Arctic Education are now approved by the Expedition Providers Association (EPA) and have been awarded the Learning Outside the Clasroom Quality badge (LOtC) for overseas expeditions.
The EPA has become recognised within the wider industry, and was at the forefront of helping to create BS8848 (British Standard for adventurous activities outside the United Kingdom) and also the LOtC Quality Badge for overseas expeditions.
Schools using an outside organisation to provide an activity must check they have appropriate safety standards and liability insurance. The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) awards the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge to organisations who meet nationally recognised standards.
The LOtC Quality Badge is the only national award combining the essential elements of provision – learning and safety – into a trusted accreditation scheme for all types of learning outside the classroom provider and we are delighted to have been awarded the LOtC badge across a broad range of metrics. The Department for Education guidance on Health & Safety on educational visits recommends that schools look for the LOtC Quality Badge when choosing external providers of educational visits.
LOtC and the Expedition Providers Association through which we got our accreditation are the UK’s most comprehensive accreditation provider for operators offering Expeditions and School trips with adventurous elements to ensure the highest quality and safety standards.
