Experience Something Beyond The Ordinary

Svalbard is unlike any other school expedition. Located high in the Arctic Ocean, this remote Norwegian archipelago is one of the world’s northernmost inhabited regions, offering students the opportunity to experience an environment unlike anywhere else on Earth. From the Polar Night, when darkness blankets the landscape and the Northern Lights frequently dance overhead, to the Midnight Sun, when daylight lasts around the clock, every season provides its own unforgettable perspective on life in the High Arctic.

Home to dramatic glaciers, vast wilderness and an abundance of Arctic wildlife, over 60% of Svalbard is protected as national parks and nature reserves. It is also the only place in Europe where wild polar bears roam, making conservation, environmental management and responsible travel an integral part of every visit. Alongside its spectacular landscapes, Svalbard has a fascinating cultural heritage, with a rich history of exploration, coal mining and scientific research.

Our expeditions are carefully designed around your group’s age, learning objectives and the time of year you travel. Whether exploring ice caves by snowcat, hiking across glaciers, searching for fossils, cruising past glaciers and wildlife by catamaran, or discovering the history of Longyearbyen and its mining heritage, every itinerary combines hands-on learning with unforgettable Arctic experiences.

With return flights, full-board accommodation, guided excursions, comprehensive insurance, ATOL and ABTA protection, optional Arctic clothing hire and 24/7 emergency support included, our Svalbard programmes provide a safe, educational and truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
